Two one acts: "The Old Lady Shows Her Medals," a story of a Scottish woman who invents a soldier son serving at the front in WWI to impress her friends and is surprised when he actually appears on her doorstep, and "The New Word," comically tells the story of a stuffy upper class English father trying to communicate his deep feelings to his equally proper son as he prepares to go to war.
