Long Description: Burton W. Cole is assistant metro editor and columnist at the Tribune Chronicle in Warren, where he has worked since 1996. His first novel, a children’s book titled “Bash and the Pirate Pig,” is a humorous romp through a northeast Ohio farm. His second book, “Bash and the Chicken Coop Caper,” will be released next spring. In this presentation, Cole will talk about the origins of his “Burt’s Eye View” newspaper column and his journey to find his own Blight County, Idaho, End of the Road, Alaska, Lake Wobegon, Minn., and Harmony, Ind., right in his own backyard. He invites readers to come for the inspiration, come for the chuckles, or come with your questions. The lesson is simple: If even Burt can chase down his dream, why can’t you?
