Long Description: Dr. Leonne M. Hudson will explore the reaction of black soldiers to President Abraham Lincoln’s death on April 15, 1865. There was widespread and profound sadness among black Americans, especially the troops, for their assassinated leader. Dr. Hudson is Associate Professor of History at Kent State University. He received his B.A. at Voorhees College and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in American History at Kent State University. His specialty is 19th Century U.S. history.
