Long Description: The topic of Quaker Samplers is rich with history, from England to the founding of the United States. Guest speaker Cynthia Foore will talk about the girls who stitched these samplers and the schools they attended, some of which are still open and teaching students. Learn about the interesting past of the Quakers and their colorful needlework. No registration necessary for the lecture. The lecture will be followed by a class about stitching on linen fabric creating a Quaker motif. If you plan to attend the class, please bring proper lighting and embroidery scissors. A kit including chart, fabric, thread and needles will be provided. Registration is required, as class size is limited; call 330-856-2011.
