YOUNGSTOWN — Local promotion company MAyNSTREAM Media and Marketing has released a local music publication, MAyNSTREAM the Magazine.
The creative director of the publication is DeMayne Earvin, founder of MAyNSTREAM, with Dorian "DTown" Townsend as the lead designer, who also submitted contect with Earvin, Scotty Dogg and Camron Penny.
While the magazine has a predominately hip-hop feel, Earvin explains that was not their intention in a note on the last page of copy. It reads, "We also realize that this issue has more hip-hop profiles that others. This was not our intent, our magazine is unbiased, and we published those that responded before the deadline."
Hundreds came out for MAyNSTREAM the Magazine's launch party at the B&O Station in Youngstown, with performances by rock and hip-hop acts, before copies of the magazine were distributed around 1 a.m.
The 30-page color magazine includes biographies submitted by local performers, including Danielle Lyn, The Zou, Da Boondox and other local names. There's also short interviews with 2Fly of We Famous, Gucci Mane, Kenny Ali and Jones for Revival from VexFest.
There's also a lingerie photoshoot and interview with Bella Lane, winner of FHM/Cuervo Hometown Honey 2006. She currently lives in Struthers.
In a letter from the editor, Earvin explains, "The magazine's purpose is to showcase the talent in this area." The next issue is slotted for release in Februrary.
