Author's note: There’s a lot of great events going on this month, so I narrowed it down and compiled a list of events that Katie and I think are the best. Check out The List- April. And as always, comments are encouraged. Cheers!

4 — If you’ve never experienced a live performance by Gil Mantera’s Party Dream, it’s a not-to-be-missed show at Cedars.

4 — Watch your favorite pro wrestlers in person when CWE comes to The Wedge.

5 — Remember the Savion Glover? You know, the tap dancer on Sesame Street? He’s featured in Diaspora of the Drum at Playhouse Square in Cleveland.

5 — Regional favorites The Clarks are playing at The Cellar.

8 — Rock out hard with Chevelle at EJ Thomas Hall in Akron.

11—- Needs no introduction: The Weedhawks at Cedars for Viking Jim’s Birthday.

12 — Strap on your old tyme dancing shoes and get ready for Del Sinchak at Kuzmans. This polka band still offers their music on cassette here.

17-20 — Opera, in English. How convenient. Amelia Goes to the Ball begins a four-night YSU.

18 — The Piano Man himself, Billy Joel, is at Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh.

18 — If psychedelic rock ’n’ roll, blues, funk, jazz and bluegrass layered with rich harmonies is your thing, check out ekoostik hookah at Mr. Smalls Funhouse in Pittsburgh.

18 — And the Most Awkward Show of the Year award goes to: Gingerspittz with The Whaling Skies at Barleys. Metal meets jam? See it for yourself.

19 — Politics meets Punk as Anti-Flag takes the stage at Mr. Smalls Funhouse in Pittsburgh.

19 — Youngstown’s original Stompcore band, Kitchen Knife Conspiracy, rescheduled their 10 Years of Failure Show at The Cellar.

19 — Four powerhouse bands on the stage and two DJs spinning in the side room makes for an intriguing evening at Naj Eimaj 2 at Cedars.

20 — That’s right kids, Cash Money Records star Lil’ Wayne is performing at the Chevy Centre.

24— If “Crank That” sounds even the least bit familiar, check out Soulja Boy at The House of Blues in Cleveland.

25 — Katie Libecco says if there's good music to be heard in life, listen to Verdi’s “Requiem” at Stambaugh Auditorium.

29 — They sang more than just Love Shack, so check out the B-52’s at House of Blues Cleveland. They even released a new album, “Funplex” March 25.

29 — The UK’s “favourite” twins, Charlie and Craig Reed, bring The Proclaimers to the House of Blues in Cleveland.

30 — Mindless Self Indulgence will mix punk rock and driving electronic music at Mr. Smalls Funhouse.

30 — It doesn’t get more ‘80s than this — Van Halen rescheduled at The Mellon Arena.
