The Oakland Center for the Arts and Kids First Theatre Initiative will present “Miss Beatrix Potter meets Mr. Peter Rabbit,” an original play written and directed by Patricia Fagan, based on author Beatrix Potter’s book, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit.” The play explores how Potter’s childhood loneliness led her to writing her famous stories. The show will include a brunch, a meet and greet with the Easter bunny, followed by the production.
The two shows will take place Saturday and Sunday. The doors open at 11:30 a.m., brunch will begin at noon, followed by an Easter Bunny meet and greet for the kids and the play at 1:15 p.m.
Brunch will consist of scrambled eggs (with cheese or peppers available), honey-glazed ham, a mixed-fruit bowl, potatoes, field greens in a light-champagne vinaigrette dressing, cupcakes and punch, coffee or water available.
Nicholas McGoogan of Struthers, a member of the Oakland’s Kids First Theatre Initiative, will perform as the master of ceremonies, and he will share his own jokes on the topic of the Easter bunny.
Tickets must be purchased in advance either online at Oaklandcenter.info or by calling 330-406-0606. Tickets are is $17 for adults and $8 for children age 17 and under. No tickets will be sold at the door, and seating is limited to 100 per show.
A professional photographer will be available to take pictures with the Easter bunny for a nominal fee.
