I remember when this place used to be Club Stratus,of course, that was over 15 years ago. The place is really nice inside, great customer service.Unfortunately, the only thing that I disliked about this place was when they charged me five dollars to get in the door. I would understand if they had something going on that night, but there was nothing special going on that evening. What most people don't know, most clubs that charge admission when is no entertainment is because some cop told them that if they charge cover, then the thugs won't come in. It's like they think that all thugs are broke.

I had a great time at this place.. I was just there this past Saturday for the first time since it has reopened and noticed a few changes that i like. Really friendly when i entered( also when we left). The drinks were great and my gf had the best Martini we've ever had (Paradise Peartini). I didn't mind paying the $5 dollar cover(guys only) because it had a great crowd. I disagree with Dr.Goldbloom, it does keep the thugs out. Even though it wasn't the busiest, i can see that it will be.

If you go to any other relatively large city you'll pay to get into any bar regardless of what is going on. Did it ever occur to you that they might charge a cover so they can stay in business! The bar business is hard enough and I think that if it also keeps thugs out at the same time then they should charge a cover every night. Any other club that same size in Pittsburgh or Cleveland would be charging $10-15 to get in. Its that type of mentality in this town that holds Youngstown back. I'm not a huge fan of the wedge, I've been there a few times, but I think that people in this town have been spoiled and thats why every bar has to sell drinks dirt cheap without a cover just to get people in the door...and thats also the reason why all our Youngstown bars are forced to change ownership every 3-5 years. If you want to go out to a safe bar with good drink specials, a good atmosphere, crowd, etc. then expect to pay a cover. If you don't then go a dive bar where you can't take a leak without continually looking over your shoulder.

on an up note, ive been enjoying the wrestling series that the wedge has been putting on. now i dont have to drive to cleveland to watch a four-team tag ladder match where two-hundred-pound men roll around on thumbtacks mere inches from my feet. sweeeeeet.

This place changes names "management" Schuley's and Shutrump's last "owned" the actual building the Wedgewood Lanes and the dance club. The reason I amposting is after Tabarra managed or run "The Mill Club" incarnation/version of what is now known as "Club Gossip" shortly after Tabarras were managing orduring the tail end of Tabarra's stint I was not allowed to enter "The Mill Club" for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than the bouncer/frontdoorman was being a jerk! Which is why I may try to go back to "Club Gossip" but u know it'slike when you getbad service somewhere u know how to handle that but u also don't have to accept it or patronize it again. When Boron ran Stratus or Club Energy there were no real big problems and me getting turned away at the door for no reason I thought was a joke but apparently I'm prettysure that is why Tabarras no longer at least to my knowledgehave anything to do with the dance club formerly known as Silver Dollar a.k.a. The Mill Club, Club 1423, The Wedge or now most recently Club Gossip. I know I haven't been to Youngstown or Austintown where I grew up in over eight years and maybe the neighborhood isn't exactly the same so what? I could see if I shot somebody in the parking lot and wanted one of the Mill Club's legendary signature Trafficant Martinis or Youngstown Car Bomb drinks that used to be on the drink menu and the security/frontdoorman didn't want to let me into the premises, but that just wasn't the case. lol.

also it's like I have money igo out toparty drinkhave a good time on a nite outand then I go to the mill club and the front doorpeople act like my money is no good there? when u have people that walk in and don't even spendany money, they just stand around...go to Bill's where Sam Moffie either cards at the door charges cover when cover there is a band or Sam charges cover Club Gossip is for kids not adults. I also noticed they used to have uniformed austintown police officers working security standing at the frontdoor at the millclub and I wasturned away from the mill club the nite a uniformed austintown cop wasn't there so it's kinda like the mill club was playing games and I coulda beat up roughed up got past the front door guy but people in austintown know me I lived there for 18 years, something not worth going to prison over?! I'll go back to Club Gossip but if they give me any problems at the door like I had at Club 1423 one time, then as a warning: it could be Club Gossip that could be burning money instead of just accepting my money... don't give me sh*t at the door at your club about getting in for no reason at all and I won't have to go to Bill's Place every night of the week for drinks and nightlife... funny... Bill's Place never had any problem with my money?!
