As far as this information, it is very outdated. Apparently, you must not be paying attention to the commercials.
C. Staples was formerly WAS on Belmont Ave. & had a humble beginning. I remember at 3 years old ( I'm now 50) my parents and many others getting together in my dad's 1959 candy apple red & white Ford Fairlane and coming all the way from Newton falls JUST to get some of their Bar-B-Q. The Young's had the permission of Mr. Charlie Staples to continue to operate the business as a D.B.A. enterprise and use his name prior to him leaving to go down south and run some of his hair care businesses and restarants down there. After Mr. & Mrs. Young both passed, the business closed. Mr. Staples has now returned and bought the old Lightener body shop building across from their former location, on 372 W. Rayen Ave. It is NOW called Charlie Staple's Bar-B-Cue, and they have quite a loyal following that includes staff from the local T.V.stations, the Mayor, and a host of judges and lawyers. They feature a broad spectrum of New Orleans & Louisiana Original recipe homemade dishes, but the main attraction is their award winning ribs and chicken dishes.
They still do not have a delivery service, but people are still quite willing to take out the time to pick it up themselves. As for outdoor seating... by this fall, he will be boasting a 175 sq. ft. upper balcony overlooking the city, and rumor has it that he is currently secretly remodeling the larger room next to Rayen to look like the French Quarter and have a dedication ceremony this holiday season, dedicating the room to those families in New Orleans and calling it "Bourbon Street". It will have the appearance of actually stepping out of a restarant into the French Quarter, with an actual Hollywood style set built into the whole room complete with wrought iron street lamps, railings, apartment buildings, cobblestone streets, and false store fronts. The walls will have a mural painted on it by a famous local artist & Master Painter known as "The Count" (who is a former intern of World Renouned master painter Dr. Alfred Bright of Y.S.U.),giving the room the appearnce of continuing off in the distance on down Bourbon Street. It will also feature an upper deck, multiple wet bars, and music. So this corrects the "unknown" comments regarding some of your incorrect information.
Yes, they do accept reservations, have a kids menu, accept credit cards, and will not accept barter, and will feature live entertainment in the future. I suggest that you and your staff stop down for a taste. I guarantee that you'll be back, and will correct this tragically incorrect and badly understated information on this blog.
