Barack Obama, Let Me Hug You

"calling her ugly is like making fun of your grandma for not giving you a boner."

You speak only for YOURSELF!!! My pants tighten with each typed letter.
(I submit the yang in juxtaposition to the yin of your somewhat highbrow commentary.)

Obama promises change in the Valley

I'll give you that. Good response and and honest answer. There was no BS in your reply and I respect that. I reread my reply and I came off a bit harsh. you on the other hand responded with civility and respect.
I may not like your stance on some of the issues but rest assured like you Goo, I really do!
Well I like you as much as I can infer from a few post on the valley24 website for whatever that is worth. :)

"I think Hillary could run the country in an effective way, but I think Obama could do it just a bit better."

Do ya?
Based on what? Empty promises made to the devised demographic of the "victimized" lowest common denominator? I am just a little tired of the perception that one's own failures can be directly attributed to any political party in this this country, let alone the the "Evil" republicans. These people (politicians) are all in it for one thing only. Are we to expect that Hilary/Obama and the so called altruistic democrats are going to zip line into youngstown and rescue us all with one fell swoop like batman?
I don't buy political rhetoric especially that of people who pander in a weak attempt to buy votes.
Politicians are all full of bullshit. Some as in this case, more than others, in my opinion.
We need to demand more from them.
If either Obama or Clinton win, don't expect to hear from either of them for another 4 years. Nor would I expect McCain or bush or anyone else.
You will have upheld your end of the bargain by voting for them, but how many politicians have ever upheld their end?
Regardless, nothing will be done for the peoples of youngstown and the MV.
They will blindly get your vote and year after year after year.
Jeebus H. Christ! the most devastating time in this valley and region was during the administration of a democrat!
Aside from a few local congressmen on occasion, what have the democrats done to earn your vote?

Obama is a smart man that is for sure. There are a lot of people that feel as if they are ignored, underprivileged, down, left behind, etc. and he is definitely speaking to these people. On the surface I like his message too. It is a great sales pitch. I just think that many of his plans fail to address the impact on those of us making somewhere near the median income. With the last raise in minimum wage, I saw no corresponding bump in my pay. Prices of goods and services go up and essentially my marginal income goes down in relation. Then as mr. Will says where exactly will all of the money come from for the funding of said programs.
I don't look for my quality of to improve with radical government run and mandated social programs.
It is hard to believe but some of us have worked to get where we are today. Other than student loans and grants (EXISTING government subsidized programs) I don't need the government intertwined in any more aspects of my life.
Also is does someone that wants to impose strict regulation on industry and their effects on the environment able to stand and get support from the same people. I guess it is more pandering to the "us against the evil corporate America" crowd again.
I tried to reiterate Will's sentiments and add something of my own anyhow.

Loss of Tan

I would blame David Lee Roth and Van Halen... But I thnk that it was a "no brown M&M" clause in their contarct and not in fact Tan.
