Quinlan's Irish Pub

well, everyone DOES kinda know that with BOGO the cheaper of the two is free. same goes for grocery stores or anywhere else. and there IS a difference between mixed drinks and say, margaritas and daquiris. something that comes in a glass bigger than your forearm is not a mixed drink. but judging by the grammar (non-the-less???) this couple must not get out much?

but i must say that there is a reason why Quinlan's split off from the O'Donolds brand ... neither are very good Irish food, and both are overpriced, but O'Donold's (austintown) seems to have a better handle on marketing and such.

in closing, "appetizor" sounds like some kind of monster that stomps around town and kills you with ranch dressing.

Comeback waiting to happen?

crowd deterrent still exists. they're playing june 19 in cleveland. they've only got one original member of course, but i'm sure they still encourage people to beat each other with barbed wire, and that's all that really matters, right?

apparently anonymous forgot about when it was the Plaza Cafe and they used to have mason jars full of pot from Pedaline's pot warehouse down the street underneath the bar to sell. Even despite that, the Plaza Cafe was preferrable to Barleys when it came to bands, crowd, music and drinks. Their buy-one-get-one special was a steal, just wait for the drunk courthouse workers to leave and give you all their drink chips.

A new club opens, and it's 'Gossip'

uh djsteve that's exactly what it was ten years ago when it opened as The Mill. It's not exactly a new spot, but pretty much the same bar and the same concept only with different names and redecorating since 1999. After four owners it has yet to establish itself as a viable venue, even with many national acts passing through. It's either the location (people afraid of getting pulled over leaving), or the bad security (i once had a drunk MILF throw a bottle at me and none of the four guys in suits knew what to do). either way, i applaud your naivete'.

Musician plays autobiographical songs at festival

if ross loves youngstown so much, why is he recording his album in boardman? we have several recording studios.

i wish the B&O would step up their promotion ... i didnt hear a word about this festival. i was right by there at the Oktoberfest and had no idea it was even going on. no flyers downtown, none on campus. thats a pretty big stage setup, and for a fest with no promotion and telling from the photos, apparently no attendance. and why would the B&O want to draw a crowd away from the Oktoberfest, where it also had a tent? it seems like a good cause, but executed pretty badly. better luck next time.

Bands express mixed reactions to Vex lineup

sorry moe, Warren does suck. i lived there for 23 years. i have no qualms about agreeing to its suckitude. the dave grohl thing was a fluke. they had no idea he was going to be there until 36 hours before he walked onstage. and he got to play alongside the likes of amazing local musicians such as That Guy Who Thinks Hes Nikki Sixx and some guys who could barely muddle their way through a Zeppelin cover. i was embarrassed, like he would think this was the best this area could offer. bands that Warren festival organizers had no idea existed would have fit his musical style better, but Warren has nothing but cover bands, bad cock rock and bands who look like they belong on those Faces of Meth posters.

in closing, i hope that Youngstown bands wont embarrassing themselves/music fans like in Warren, at least the people who had the sense to know that Smack Alice should rightfully break up for the good of mankind.
