contains data from the institute for social and economic research breaking down the demographics of cell phone users vs. land line users. i have seen data like this discussed many times in print and on tv during the course of the last two elections. it wasnt something i thought i needed to supply proof of since it has been pretty well established by those discussing polling.

your logic goes as follows: i love the rolling stones, but they had like two sh*tty albums in the 60s that i never got because they were dumb. therefore, i must know nothing about the rolling stones. ok, i can probably come up with a better metaphor but i choose not to.

it is the ability to filter out the obvious BS from our lives that separates us from the apes.

and people are going to filter out BS journalism.

journalism must be dead, if your average blogger does not realize that:

* phone polls are terribly slanted, because a majority of younger people and professionals no longer have land lines and use cell phones, which are not on the auto-dials for most polling companies. therefore, mostly older people who don't primarily use cell phones answer the polls, which is only one demographic. plus older people generally vote the same and sway less frequently than younger voters.

* if you were involved in the media at all, you would see that there was an insanely gross over-coverage of this election. a lot of it was sensationalism, but a well-informed voter knows the places to go to look for the facts they need to make an intelligent decision. numbers were cranked out on every angle possible. voting records and work histories for the candidates were available. every speech and convention and debate were televised on every channel and repeated ad nauseum. if a person watched only fox news or cnn or listened to rush limbaugh, then of course they'll be misinformed. but then they are also an idiot.

* anyone who draws a conclusion based on a youtube video without supplying any other evidence or facts to the contrary or information on this supposed zogby poll (link?) is contributing to the supposed death to journalism.

the answer? yes. this blog is retarded.

thanks for the good point about the autism thing. its just more generalizing ... just like how she practically lives in russia, and has the authority to allow national guard flunkies to use high-powered rifles to shoot wolves from a helicopter because she once shot a moose.

the presale code is 'vote'

i got my tickets! in exchange for the presale, i had to pay fees that i wouldnt have had i gone to the chev box office, but i guess the six bucks per ticket is in exchange for making sure im up front. even though i got floor general admin, which is closer than seats but probably wont sell out quickly. eh.

when i got into journalism, i thought that meant free concert tickets. who knew?

i havent seen the flyer anywhere ... and all the signs dont have any information about music, vendors, events or anything so this event has been kind of a mystery ... until v24 intervened! i will print out the flyer and put it all over the north side, like herpes.
