This footage of American Spirit in Downtown 36 during VexFest shows the crowd and pit for the band's last song. As one member of security helps handle the pit, another attempts to have the band's sound cut out. When the pit continues, the security team member (not shown) disperses pepper spray into the crowd. In addition to the crowd, the photographer was affected by the pepper spray. The security guard, who preferred his name not be used, admitted that he dispersed the pepper spray in the crowd, citing concerns about safety.
