The musician known as Matt Palka, who's at home everywhere, especially in Youngstown, is asking for help in support of his next album, "Gypsy." He's started a Kickstarter account seeking $15,000.
According to the Kickstarter project:
"I've given everything I have to this album, even sacrificing my first guitar to keep the project rolling. And now I need your help with the last few steps. Besides the cost of pressing this album on vinyl (as it was recorded all analogue) I have the cost of promotion, touring, and bus repairs (new engine, body work, heater & defroster.) The album is finished! I just need your help to get back on tour and release it to the world."
As per usual Kickstarter projects, backers are rewarded with copies of the album, advance downloads and other fun tokens of appreciation, including a license plate from his car, T-shirts, posters and a house party.
Fans can also see Palka's latest video, "The Dream Will Live," from "Gypsy" and featuring Natalia Lepore Hagan, Beth Clowes, Emma Rumberg, Matt Palka, Jimmy Pernotto and Jimmy Lepore Hagan, by visiting the Kickstarter project. The video for "The Dream Will Live" was directed by Chris Rutushin. Support the "Gypsy" by visiting http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/525576425/matt-palka-gypsy-record-and-vw-bus-repair. There are 45 days left to contribute.
